I could not believe that i spent one whole day at Immigration department in order to renew my passport. It was taxing and time consuming. My advise is to renew during working days and not during school holidays. I have to go again in order to collect my passport. Normally this process would take half a day. Plan your trip carefully to avoid frustrations due to long hours of waiting
11 months after my warranty my dell Volstro 1200 gone kaput,
This is my working notebook! God sake. No more dell – no more no more no more.
Not me only but many more. I got a thread to prove it. Gosh, data extraction. Shit and setting up a new notebook will be very painful
Sent my sister reena to 12th residential college UM. This tall condo like student housing equipped with elevators and WIFI. I was really impressed. While I was driving to the third college I saw the current Pahang Chief Minister (could mistaken) walking alone towards the open air car park , probably one of his kids got accepted to Asasi as well.

I am going to reward myself by getting an Iphone. I hardly get things for myself these days.
Tightening my belt is no longer fun. Hehehe, just this once. Not going to do it again – fingers crossed.
The thing that I am really unhappy is Maxis Ivalue plans, I have to pay RM 100 monthly and the data transfer is not even unlimited. That is sucks big time! No worries, I am going to discontinue my maxis3g datacard plan which I hardly use these days (only for backup) and probably subscribe to Iphone Ivalue plans RM100 + 99 Unimited data plan. I still have my 3g card. I will use that as backup if the DSL line gone kaput again. Or I can use my secondary Celcom line and SMS for broadband.
Wonder why I have 2 mobile number? – Cause one for work and one for personal. I transfer call to another line if I am using the SIM card to use as broadband – call transfer. I can use unlimited data with my Iphone. Bit excessive?.. maybe.. who cares cause I can claim my broadband bills.
Time : 8.57.pm, Location : Datacentre, I was hungry but had to work late. Very tired and had to sit on the floor.
I also found out today that accident could also happen in space.. nah not cyberspace but outer space.. not exactly outer but ionosphere A backup satellite in the Iridium communication network has replaced the one knocked out in a collision with a dead Russian satellite last month. I guess we have plenty on junk in space.
I could not sleep properly last night due to heartburn. The antacid pills could not fix the pain. At 6am I took another antacid pill and swallowed the whole chunk. It worked finally. I managed to get some sleep but turned up late for work. I put the blame on tostada chip dips that I consumed at Chili’s yesterday.
My younger brother came to my place to borrow my car – which i use very rarely (I walk to work). Later he called me up from downstairs to inform me that my car refused to start. Funny – the car was fine the day before.
We tried to jump start the car but failed. To cut the long story short the was some sort of corrosion at the battery terminal. I thought the jumper cable was not working anymore and drove the petrol station to get a new one or get a new batt. I got a new jumper cable cause the batt was way too expensive. While I was at the petrol station my bro cleaned the terminal and he managed to start the car.
Initially and my point that I want to raise here – my brother thought that he should connect the positive and negative terminals together ! and I warn you you should not do that@!!! That is so dangerous. Your batts could explode.
Here is the right way to do it
Youtube Video Jump Start A Car
1. Connect one end of the Positive(+) cable to the Positive(+) post of the dead battery.
2. Connect the other end of the Positive(+) cable to the Positive(+) post of the good battery.
3. Connect one end of the Negative(-) cable to the Negative(-) post of the good battery.
4. Connect the other end of the Negative(-) cable to a good solid SHINY, NON PAINTED metal part of the engine on the dead car. Usually a giant shiny nut on the engine block will do. A painted, dirty, or oily nut will not work. You usually want to avoid placing the Negative(-) cable directly on the dead battery to minimize the chance for explosions. You should only use the ground post on the dead battery as a last resort. On this step you’ll get a normal spark as you connect the ground and complete the circuit
I decided to try Ubuntu linux for my home desktop. I never tried on Ubuntu before and I installed Centos previously. I have to admit that I am hooked to it and decided not to purchase Windows Xp license.
I can do most things on Ubuntu for example
P2P – Limewire (Yay!)
Globetrotter 3G – I am using my Maxis3g with Ubuntu!
Watching DVD – VLC
Word processing – With Openoffice
Surfing – Firefox
IM – Pidgin
Inferior 3G coverage compared to Celcom 3G. I went to small towns and could not get Maxis3g but my Celcom showing coverage bars – (i.e Durian Tunggal – Melaka, Mersing – Johor). When I am not away from my wired broadband, I use Maxis3g to download (direct download ISOs and Movies) You can leave it on and download using download applications and you can get full speed. Well as for Celcom 3G you can download at full speed if there is activity on your browser – That means you need to surf certain sites and the download progress will move. If you leave it on and download using download manager only, the connection will drop tremendously. I am not happy. I guess I will terminate my Celcom3g and keep my maxis for downloading big files. I don’t really like surfing using 3g or hsdpa because of the latency. It is not stable unless you get full bar coverage and near the transmission tower. I am very positive that Maxis will beef up their coverage by erecting more towers. And the winner is Maxis3G.
It is a pain if you are running virtual hosting and one of the domains keep on bursting. Definitely will cost you pocket loads of cash to pay for overages.
I know how to unzip a gz file but not making one.. here is now
tar -cvzpf filename.tgz folder
LOL
FYI: gzip can only compress a single file. tar can archive multiple files, but it doesn’t compress them. Therefore the two tools are often used together: first you archive all the files into one with tar, then you compress that file with gzip
I got terrible headache today because of 2 web servers i managed downed due to gateway error in the data centre. IIt is quite depressing since you could not do anything and waited. I smoked a lot today.
The internet is not one straight line. Your computer –> Server. Not that way. In order to view one web site, you have to go thru coppers, wires, cables, under sea cables etc, but for laymen, they just want it to work. Switch go berserk sometimes. Machines are and computers are not reliable anyway. Plus if you have moving parts. They will break down one day. You just have to be prepared.
But Ioncube did it… (refer to post below.) Ioncube loader refuse to play nice with Zend 3.3.0. I downgraded Zend and they play nice now. *Sigh. Anyway Php is now 5.2.5 .
New version of scripts or software do not mean better than the old one. Sometimes the old one is better because it is fully tested or debugged. It is also proven to be reliable by thousand of users. Take for example Zend Optimizer and PHP. Recently the latest Zend optimizer 3.3.0 causing havoc. At non busy times like sunday morning, the white screen of death will occur and Apache webserver needs to be started manually. This is such a pain. I downgraded to Zend 3.28 and by looking at Apache logs, segmentation faults are logged rarely than the latest version.
I got another wisdom tooth pulled out yesterday. The tooth grew horizontally and caused me pain for a week. My dentist had to cut my gum in order to extract it. After the minor surgery my dentist instructed me to get pain killer injection at the next door clinic.
This morning I woke up.. I saw my pillows and mattress covered with my own blood.
My gum is still bleeding though..
